'Love of a Pig' Kvetches into 45th Street Theatre, Oct. 12

Leslie Caveny's comedy Love of a Pig makes its New York premiere beginning October 12 with performances through October 28 at The 45th Street Theatre; directed by D.H. Johnson. Supervising Director Daniel Kutner (I Love You Because, Assist. to Hal Prince's LoveMusik and upcoming Spike Lee's Stalag 17)
A portion of the proceeds goes to The Olivieri Center for Homeless Women.
"Love of a Pig is a fast moving comedy about Jenny, a twenty-something jazz violinist content with life except when it comes to the opposite sex. Having calculated the number of nights spent alone since becoming an adult, Jenny scientifically approaches the question, 'Why not me?' When her 'Mr. Right' comes along, everything seems to go wrong, and a new self examination begins. Love of a Pig is a hilarious tour de force of dating, courting and kvetching," explain press notes.
Leslie Caveny was educated at Boston University School for the Arts and studied playwrighting with Derek Walcott. As a screenwriter for television, Caveny's credits include the Emmy-award winning "Everybody Loves Raymond," which she wrote and co-executive produced; "Mad About You," "Newsradio," "The Naked Truth," "Ladies Man," and "Maggie Winters." Stage plays include Impact This! and I Remember. She wrote the screenplay for the romantic fable Penelope, produced by Reese Witherspoon and starring Cristina Ricci and James McAvoy, coming to theatres nationwide, February 2008. She is currently writing for Pixar.
The cast includes Steven Strobel, Marie C. Anderson, Michael Ferrell, Jenny Greer, David Nelson, Ginny Lee, Aaron Davis, and featuring Dana Brooke as Jenny

Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 8PM and Sundays at 7PM.
