The snow has melted...for now, and spring is FINALLY in the air. With warm weather around the corner, spring break is fast approaching for school children here on the east end. But no need for parents to worry as Bay Street Theatre will again host its ever popular School Vacation Theatre Camp.

Bay Street's KIDS SCHOOL VACATION THEATRE CAMP will run from March 29 - April 2 from 9am - 3pm daily. The week will include classes and games incorporating every aspect of theatre including acting, singing, improvisation, dance and more. This is a unique opportunity for kids to explore the world of musical theatre as they write and perform in their own mini-musical! Taught by Broadway professionals, Theatre Camp is perfect for both experienced theater kids and novices alike.

Theatre Camp will again be led by Debra Barsha. Debra is a professional teacher as well as Broadway performer and musician. She is the current pianist, singer and Assistant Conductor of Broadway's Jersey Boys. Said one parent, "She's just so terrific with the kids...one of the most accomplished theater professionals around." During Theater Camp, Ms. Barsha tries hard to have each student determine his or her own likes and dislikes within the theatre arts and to take this passion and highlight it. "I tell the kids in theater class that there is no such thing as a mistake. It's one of the only places in their lives they will ever hear that. As long as you are in character, you are allowed to be and do anything you want!", says Debra.

Theatre Camp is recommended for children ages 8 to 12 years old. The cost for one-week is $350 per child. Students are required to bring a bag lunch and snack and have a willingness to learn. Class size is limited and there are only a few spots remaining. Call Bay Street's administrative office at 631-725-0818 x110 to sign up today.

More information on any of the camps or classes above may be found at www.baystreet.org or call the administrative office at 631-725-0818 x110 to reserve a spot.
