LAByrinth Theater Company has announced Live Nude Plays, a free marathon festival of staged readings of six new works on Monday, April 16th.

The festival will include readings of the following new works: Space by Keli Garrett, the body and the father by Florencia Lozano, Dress Them Down With Whiskey by Bill Powers, Crazy Little Thing by Melissa Ross, Gingerbread House by Mark Schultz, Bloodless by Michael Voyer.

The event is free to the public and will take place in the Martinson Hall at the Public Theatre (425 Lafayette Street) from noon to midnight on Monday, April 16th.

Reservations are not necessary and seating will be general admission on a first-come, first-served basis per performance. Patrons should arrive at the theater 1/2 hour before the performance they would like to attend. The schedule of the day is as follows:

12noon – Space by Keli Garrett, directed Dominic Taylor

2pm – the body and the father by Florencia Lozano

4pm – Gingerbread House by Mark Schultz, directed by Brian Roff

6pm – Bloodless by Michael Voyer, directed by Andrea Ciannavei

8pm – Dress Them Down With Whiskey by Bill Powers, directed by Donal Lardner Ward

10pm – Crazy Little Thing by Melissa Ross, directed by Brian Roff

Live Nude Plays is a new component of LAByrinth Theater Company's play development process, replacing a previous reading series known as "In the Kitchen".  Like LAByrinth's Barn Series Festival of New Work, Live Nude Plays is a collection of works-in-progress chosen from LAByrinth's Summer Intensive and designed to encourage further development of new works from up-and-coming and established playwrights alike.
