John Cullum and Tony Roberts to Star in Keen Co's HEROES

The New York Times reports that John Cullum and Tony Roberts will star in the Keen Company's production of HEROES. The play will be directed by Carl Forsman and will run from February 24, 2009 - April 11, 2009.

The Keen Company's HEROES is written by Gerald Sibleyras and is translated by Tom Stoppard. An evocative comedy about three World War I veterans living in a veterans' home who plot a new assault - a trip to a stand of trees in the distance. But should they bring the stone dog with them? And does the stone dog move sometimes? Sibleyras calls it a play "about the universal desire to escape the confines of life." Winner of the Olivier Award as London's Best New Comedy in 2006,
Keen presents its New York debut.

John Cullum (Beverly Weston) received Tony awards for his performances in On The Twentieth Century and Shenandoah, and received Tony nominations for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and Urinetown. Off-Broadway, was Drama Desk nominated for Sin. Other Broadway credits include: Camelot, 1776, Doubles, All My Son,Old Money, Burton's, Hamlet (Laertes), Boys in Autumn, Trip Back Down, La Mancha, Show Boat. On Television, Cullum portrayed: Holling, the bartender on "Northern Exposure, Mark Greene's father on "ER," Attorney Moredock on "Law & Order: SVU" His film credits include: Night Listener, Betty Page, Secret Life of Algernon, 1776, Sweet Country, Marie, All the Way Home, and Hawaii.

Tony Roberts most recently starred on Broadway in Xanadu. His other Broadway credits include The Tale of the Allergist's Wife; Victor/Victoria; Cabaret; The Sisters Rosensweig; Jerome Robbins' Broadway; They're Playing Our Song; Sugar; How Now, Dow Jones (Tony Award nom.); Promises, Promises (winner, London Critic's Poll Award); Play It Again, Sam (Tony Award nom.) and a dozen others. Recently starred in the first revival of Samuel Beckett's Endgame at the Irish Repertory Company (NYC). Film: Annie Hall; Play It Again, Sam; Serpico; Amityville 3D; The Taking of Pelham..., Radio Days, 18 Again!, Star Spangled Girl, A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy, Switch, etc. TV: "The American Clock," "Seize the Day," "Rosetti and Ryan," "The Four Seasons."
