Comix at Foxwoods presents comedy icon and king of the celebrity roast, Jeff Ross for a one-night-only performance at the Fox Theater at Foxwoods tonight, June 5, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.

Often referred to as "the heir apparent to old-school roastmasters Buddy Hackett and Rodney Dangerfield" by the New York Times, Jeff Ross is revered and feared for his notorious appearances at celebrity roasts. Ross, commonly known as "The Roastmaster General," is not just a self-deprecating comedian; he's an "all-deprecating comedian."

Though Ross' style incorporates making fun of himself, he specializes in making fun of others. In fact, since breaking through on the comedy scene, Ross created and stars on Comedy Central's, "The Burn With Jeff Ross," which has become a wildly popular celebrity roast franchise.

When it comes to celebrity roasts, Ross has an extended CV. He's been featured, and feared, as a regular roaster on the last eleven "Comedy Central Roasts." During his eleven-year tenure, Ross has roasted Pamela Anderson in 2005; William Shatner in 2006; Flavor Flav in 2007; Bob Saget in 2008; Larry the Cable Guy and Joan Rivers in 2009; David Hasselhoff in 2010; Donald Trump and Charlie Sheen in 2011; Roseanne Barr in 2012; James Franco in 2013 and Justin Bieber in 2015.

Ross has also written for, performed in and/or produced several other celebrity roasts, including those for Hugh Hefner, Rob Reiner, Jerry Stiller, Drew Carey, Emmitt Smith, Carson Daly, Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, Gene Simmons and David Hasselhoff.

The comedian has also dipped his toes into the dramatic genre of entertainment as he's been seen on CBS', "CSI" and HBO's, "Six Feet Under." Ross has appeared in Comedy Central's, "The Sarah Silverman Program," Showtime's "Weeds," and has been a regular cast member in "Nick Cannon's Wild 'n Out" on MTV, as well.

On the silver screen, Ross has appeared in feature films including "Stuck on You" and "The Aristocrats." He provided the voice for the Beagle, "Buddy" in the MTV2 animated satire, "Where My Dogs At?" and also appeared on the third season of "Celebrity Poker," but lost in his first match.

Ross made his directorial debut in 2005 with "Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie" and received the "Best Feature Film" Award at the Montreal Comedy Festival. The documentary is about Ross' life-changing experience performing for U.S. troops stationed around Iraq and featured features fellow comedians/comedic actors Drew Carey, Blake Clark and Kathy Kinney.

The comedian known for cutting down others also has a penchant for cutting a rug, as he competed on Season 7 of ABC's, "Dancing with the Stars." Ross, who was partnered with Edyta ?liwi?ska, was accidentally poked in the eye by ?liwi?ska, suffering a scratched cornea during their rehearsal of their first dance. Against doctor's order, Ross continued the competition and performed the Cha-Cha-Cha to "Play That Funky Music." Though Ross' heroics were admired, the duo was the first couple to be eliminated from the competition. Ross and ?liwi?ska later performed a Quickstep to "I Get a Kick out of You" as an encore for the elimination show.
