Cheyenne Jackson will switch gears from pelvis-tilting rebel to fighter pilot when he stars with Christiane Noll in Ace, a new musical that will be presented as part of the 17th annual New York Alliance for Musical Theatre Festival (NAMT).

Ace, which is set in 1952 St. Louis, concerns a "troubled 10 year-old boy named Billy Lucas receives the gift of a model airplane from his foster parents. The plane unlocks a door to a mystical world of dreams and visitations. With an 'Ace' fighter pilot as his guide, Billy embarks on a series of heroic and haunting World War I and World War II adventures, revealing his own true identity, the secrets of his past, and the key to his future. Mixing humor and heart, this musical chronicles the tragedy and transcendence of three generations of an American family," according to production notes. The show features music by Richard Oberacker, and book and lyrics by Oberacker and Robert Taylor.

Jackson currently stars in All Shook Up. His previous Broadway credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie and Aida (as a standby for Radames). He was among the premiere cast of Altar Boyz, is a member of the Broadway Inspirational Voices, and has appeared regionally in West Side Story, The Most Happy Fella, Children of Eden, Hair, Carousel, Damn Yankees and Kismet.

Noll was most recently featured in the out-of-town tryout of The Mambo Kings (the Broadway opening of the show was postponed indefinitely). She rose to fame as Emma in Jekyll and Hyde, and also appeared on Broadway in It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and at Encores! in Out of This World. She also appeared in national tours of Grease, City of Angels and Miss Saigon, and her solo albums are A Broadway Love Story, Live at the Westbank Café and The Ira Gershwin Album.

This year's NAMT will be held at Dodgers Stages (340 W. 50th St.) on September 25th and 26th with shows presented for an invited audience of theatre producers and NAMT members. For more information on Ace and on the festival, visit www.namt.net.
