Hairspray's Jackie Hoffman will return with her show Chanukah at Joe's Pub, performing at the intimate downtown venue on Mondays, December 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th for two shows a night--at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM.

"Last year, Jackie Hoffman's annual Chanukah hoedown expanded from its Semitic roots to include, and not begrudgingly, the celebration of the sister fiesta of Christmas. This year Ms. Hoffman has gone back to her Chanukah only policy, and audiences, both Semitic and non, are in for a kosher calliope of the wit and bile which you have come to expect," state press notes. "Of course any Jackie Hoffman evening has to include her signature usual/unusual hatred of children, bitter bashing of Broadway (remember she has been off the Great White Way for over a year now) and all that we've come to know and love Jackie for."

The evening will be directed by Michael Schiralli with musical direction by Bobby Peaco.

Hoffman played a number of roles in the original Broadway cast of Hairspray; among them were Prudy Pingleton and the Gym Teacher. She won a 2003 Theatre World Award for her performance(s). Hoffman, who was also seen in the Actors' Fund benefit concert of Hair and off-Broadway's Straight Jacket, has appeared on screen and on TV in A Dirty Shame, Garden State, Legally Blonde 2, Kissing Jessica Stein, "Starved," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Strangers with Candy."

Joe's Pub is located at the The Public Theatre at 425 Lafayette Street. Tickets, which are $25, and dinner reservations can be arranged by calling 212-539-8778. Tickets can also be arranged at the Public Theater box office or at www.telecharge.com
