J. Smith Cameron and Jefferson Mays to Star in Project Shaw's VILLAGE WOOING This Fall

By:

Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director David Staller, presents its 96th production, George Bernard Shaw's Village Wooing, on Monday, September 29 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.).

Written in 1933, Village Wooing is considered one of Shaw's smartest romantic short comedies. A meeting on a luxury cruise-liner, which is anything but a 'shipboard romance', becomes an unexpected adventure on the English countryside.

Directed by David Staller, Village Wooing features OBIE winner J. Smith Cameron (Sundance Channel's Rectify) and Tony-winner Jefferson Mays (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder). Wall Street Journal theater critic Terry Teachout will narrate.

Project Shaw events for 2014 include a rarely seen Ibsen comedy, League of Youth (October 27), The Millionairess (November 24), and a reading of David Cote's new play, Otherland (December 22).

GTG presents an annual festival, SHAW NEW YORK, which includes a fully-mounted Shaw play. Its 2014 festival will bring The Pearl Theatre Company and GTG together again to co-produce Shaw's Major Barbara, directed by David Staller, from November 4 - December 14. Tickets are now on sale at The Pearl box office. For more, visit www.pearltheatre.org.

Now in its ninth year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches). For more information about Project Shaw and the Gingold Theatrical Group contact 212-355-7823 or info@gingoldgroup.org or www.projectshaw.org.

Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre space is completely disabled accessible. Symphony Space is located in Manhattan at 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). Tickets, priced $30, are now available by calling (212) 864-5400 or online at www.symphonyspace.org.
