INTER-GRANT FESTIVAL Will Celebrate Immigrant Artists in October
Ching-I Chang founded the event after facing seven visa applications during two decades of dance-making in the U.S.
Inter-grant Festival returns to Arts on Site in New York City from October 8 through 10, 2026. Performances begin at 7:00 PM each evening.
The festival brings together international and immigrant artists working across live performance, film, visual art, and community dialogue. Each evening begins with a pre-show art sale, followed by live performances and docuseries screenings, and concludes with an artist-led post-show discussion.
'Inter-grant' combines 'international' and 'immigrant', a festival initiated by Taiwanese dancemaker Ching-I Chang after navigating seven visa applications and over two decades of dance-making in the U.S. The festival is co-produced with Penelope J. Armstead, whose brand, PeachKRAYZ, empowers women by using scholarship as a tool to tell moving stories.
For many immigrant artists, migration is a journey of necessity and survival. Inter-grant Festival offers a space for these journeys to unfold, where artists can rest, embrace the identities they carry, reconnect with their cultural roots, and imagine new possibilities.
