I Love Paris, Doug Fields' hit off-Broadway satire of the camera-friendly Hilton sister, will close today, Monday, July 25th at the Blue Heron Arts Center (123 East 24th Street between Park
and Lexington) with original star Kevin Shinick playing the title role; the show plays every Monday at 8 PM.The
one-(wo)man show, which is directed by Timothy Haskell, was first
performed by Shinick on July 26th, 2004; he left last winter but returned to the role on June 20th, 2005 in order to play through the show's one-year
anniversary. A 50-year old magician named Ago, and actor/dancer Aaron
Haskell succeeded Shinick as Paris, the first time around.I
Love Paris "captures an intimate moment with the world
renowned socialite as she prepares to audition for the fifth co-host
seat of the ABC daytime television talk show, "The View". While
she waits in the green room, Paris reminisces about her whirlwind life, the high
points, the low points and all of the fascinating points in between.
Baring it all like never before--her straight to video performance not
withstanding--she takes on even the most controversial
topics," according to a press article.
Director Haskell recently directed Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy starring Corey Feldman, and the rock and
roll disenfranchisement comedy Corporate Rock--also at the Blue Heron. He
created and directed the recent cult hit Road House that transferred from
Off-Off Broadway to Off-Broadway at the Barrow Street Theatre earlier this
season and was the creator of the Halloween Adventure Haunted House.
