Vogue dancers from the iconic House of Mizrahi- Shea Mizrahi and Emperor Omari Mizrahi - and social entertainment community Clapit today announced Dancing for the Streets, an open call to recognize performing artists and dancers from across the USA.

The winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to New York City for an awards event where they will be named 'America's Best Dancer' and the new Clapit Ambassador of Dance. They will also receive a day in studio with Shea and Omari to create a pro pack with a professional photographer/videographer.

"Dancing for the Streets represents a longstanding dream of mine to bring the country's dance community together to celebrate emerging talent," said Shea. "Clapit was an ideal partner for us - providing a community and simple platform where talent can be discovered and amplified to the world. We look forward to cheering these performing artists on from within the app and the opportunity to mentor the top performer in studio."

To apply, entrants upload original performances to Clapit using the hashtag #DanceIt. For a two-week period, the community will clap their favorite performances. The most-clapped videos will be showcased on Clapit's global 'best' chart and the submission with the most claps at the end of two weeks will be announced the winner - a democratic crowd-sourced voting system.

"We want to encourage everyone who loves to dance to show us what they've got," said Omari. "The videos can be inspired by any genre: afrobeats, house, breaking, vogue, hip hop, wacking, dancehall or flexing. Invite your friends to Clapit to cheer you on, too. Remember, this is really about community and expression."

"Clapit provides opportunities for emerging talent to connect with ambassadors and a broader community of creatives from around the world," said Mary Jane Bulseco, Clapit co-founder and CMO Co-founder and CEO Paul Bedwell added, "This open call challenge provides America's dance community with empowering mentoring from Shea and Omari with the opportunity to build out their pro pack - a key asset for emerging artists who want to work with professional agencies."

Clapit is the social entertainment community for emerging talent to get discovered. Available for free download from the iOS store, emerging artists and performers upload a video, GIF or photo, to broadcast to their talent to the world. The best content is clapped on, climbing to the best chart - and recognized by celebrities, influencers, and the global community.
