Two-time Tony Award nominee, Helen Mirren, is set to star in the motion picture remake of 1981's Oscar-winning film, "Arthur", alongside Russell Brand. In the film, Arthur (played by Brand) is a drunk, clueless man waiting to receive a large sum of inheritance money. Mirren will play the valet, originally played by John Gielgud.

According to Variety.com, writer Peter Baynham constructed "Arthur" with Russell Brand in mind. Jason Winer, who recently made his writing breakthrough with ABC's, "Modern Family", is joined by Producers Larry Brenzer, Chris Bender, and Kevin McCormich.

English comedian, Russell Brand, has appeared in the films, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", "St Trinians" and "Bedtime Stories". As 2008's host of the MTV Video Music Awards, Brand is the center of many British media controversies that have banned him from appearing on the BBC.

Four time Emmy Award-Winner, Helen Mirren, is no stranger to the screen or stage. Mirren is perhaps best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen" (2006). This performance earned Mirren 26 major awards, including the Oscar for Best Featured Actress. Mirren has been in countless Broadway and Westend productions such as COLLECTED STORIES and ORPHEUS DESCENDING in London, and DANCE OF DEATH and A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY in NYC. Last seen in the 2009 films, "State of Play" and "The Last Station", Mirren recently completed production on the 2010 remake of William Shakespeare's, "The Tempest".
