Tim Crouch's an oak tree, which the Perry Street Theatre Company will present at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow St.), will begin previews beginning October 27th, with an opening night set for November 4th.

The line-up of rotating actors playing the role of "The Father" has been announced, as have the performance dates.  The previously announced F. Murray Abraham (Monday, October 30th), Charles Busch (October 31st), Reed Birney (November 3rd), James Urbaniak (opening night, November 4th at 9:30 PM), and Kristin Sieh (November 5th at 5 PM) will be joined by "Queer as Folk" star Randy Harrison (November 4th at 5 PM), "Law & Order" star Leslie Hendrix (November 5th at 8 PM), Beauty and the Beast star Steve Blanchard (November 6th) and Laurie Anderson (November 7th).

"an oak tree is the story of two men brought together by loss: a father whose daughter has been killed in a car accident -- and the driver of that car -- a provincial stage hypnotist," as press materials describe the show.

At each performance, a different actor--either male of female--plays the father. "The second actor walks on stage having neither seen nor read a word of the play they're in….until they're in it. This is breath-taking projection of performance, given from one actor to another, from a hypnotist to a subject, from an audience to a person," state press materials.

"For the father, nothing now is what it was. Since the accident the hypnotists' act is a disaster. For him, everything now is exactly what it is. an oak tree is about the dramatic intertwining of human lives as the man and the hypnotist are reunited for the first time since the accident when the hypnotist inadvertently calls him on stage as a volunteer."

The show will play: Fridays at 9.30PM; Saturdays at 5PM and 9:30PM; Sunday at 5 and 8PM; Monday at 8PM; Tuesday at 8PM.  There will be no show on Wednesday and Thursday.  The running time 65 minutes.

Tickets are $45.  To purchase tickets please call Telecharge.com at 212-239-6200.  For more information about the Perry Street Theatre Company (Exiled), please visit www.PerryStreetTheatre.com.
