Enjoy FREE admission to the Frist Center in celebration of the Association of Art Museum Directors' fifth annual Art Museum Day on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Spend the day exploring gallery exhibitions and join in one of the following programs:

· Docent Walk-Up Tour, 1:30 p.m. Join one of the Frist Center's docents on a guided tour of Goya: The Disasters of War and Steve Mumford's War Journals, 2003-2013.

· Artful Tales: "Wiley and the Hairy Man," 2:00-3:00 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 A free family program geared towards guests ages three and up. Listen and play along as an art-related story comes to life. Then, make an artwork that relates to the story. Enjoy a folktale about a boy and his mother and how they use wit and courage to outsmart the trickster Hairy Man. After the story, create a banner that celebrates your shared family history. This program connects families to the exhibition American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart.

· Drop-in Drawing, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Practice different techniques and enhance your drawing skills during this workshop for participants age 18 and older. Visitors may check out drawing materials and find inspiration in the artworks in the galleries or in the architecture of the building. An art educator will be stationed near the Information Desk on the first level to distribute supplies and to give instructional guidance as needed.

· Martin ArtQuest: Visitors of all ages are invited to explore the Martin ArtQuest Gallery, the Frist Center's colorful interactive space. A variety of hands-on stations inspire visitors to become artists as they create prints and collages, sketch and paint, or explore the essentials of art, including color, pattern, and texture. ArtQuest is staffed by trained art educators and knowledgeable volunteers to help everyone create and learn about art!
