Beloved Tony-winning star of stage and screen Laura Benanti is once again proving what she is Broadway's favorite "Superwoman" with the release of her new single, "I Like Musicals." You can check out the entire song below.

Not only does the hilarious Benanti sing the song, but she also wrote its music and lyrics, and is backed by The Skivvies, Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, who also provided the backing vocal arrangement. The trio teamed up last year for the Theatre Etiquette Instructional ditty "Look Up" (check out their music video here).

About "I Like Musicals," Benanti said, "It's 1994. I am a freshman in high school. I have acne, braces, and frizzy hair. I am NOT cool. Not even remotely. I listen to Pearl Jam and Alanis Morissette on a bright yellow Sony Discman that skips every time I move a muscle. But mostly, I use that Discman to listen to musical. Lots and lots of musicals.

This is a song for anyone who has ever felt uncool, weird, left out or misunderstood. So...this is a song for everyone. Please feel free to substitute the word 'musicals' for whatever it is that makes you feel different or other."

If you purchase the song from CD Baby at cdbaby.com/cd/laurabenanti24, all of the proceeds will go to keeping music in our public schools through VH1's Save the Music Foundation. However, anyone unable to donate can download the song for free at laurabenanti.com

The track also features Ann Klein on bass and guitar and Sammy Merendino on Drums. Tim Hatfield is the Engineer, and Klein also produced and arranged the song. Scott Hull mastered the track, which was recorded at Harlem Parlor Recording.
