Emily Markoe's MY LITTLE PHOBIA Will Hold One Night Only at Caveat NYC
The dark comedy solo show explores emetophobia and OCD after award-nominated runs at Hollywood and Edinburgh Fringe
After sold-out and award-nominated runs at the Hollywood Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe, writer-performer Emily Markoe brings her dark comedy solo show My Little Phobia to New York for one night only at Caveat on Monday, May 18 at 9:30 PM. The show explores the hilarious, relatable, and vulnerable reality of living with emetophobia and OCD through characters, storytelling, and physical comedy.
Emily wrote a perfectly normal solo show. It's not about vomit — how could it be?! Emily has emetophobia, the extreme and debilitating fear of vomit. Watch as her show unravels: interrupted by obsessive-compulsive rituals, resurfaced memories, and an uninvited visit from her childhood therapist, Dr. My Little Pony. As Emily struggles to keep everything under control, we realize she doesn't actually have control over anything — not her show, not her audience, and most alarmingly, not even herself.
Through the lens of a very specific obsession, My Little Phobia transcends its subject matter to deliver a funny, strange, and moving experience for all audiences. And don't worry: vomiting is strictly forbidden.
