Bill Condon has been nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film by the Directors Guild of America.

Condon, who directed the film version of Dreamgirls and who adapted its screenplay from Tom Eyen's libretto, joins Little Miss Sunshine's Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Farris, The Queen's Stephen Frears, Babel's Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and The Departed's Martin Scorcese among the list of nominees.

The ceremony will be held at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 3rd.

Condon previously received an Oscar nomination for penning the screenplay of Chicago. He has also written and directed Kinsey, Gods and Monsters and Sister, Sister, among others.

Produced by Dreamworks, the version of Dreamgirls stars Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce Knowles, Anika Noni Rose, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.  The 1981 Broadway classic features music by Henry Krieger and book and lyrics by Eyen.
