Everyone knows that "all work and no play" is not good for the soul. This past summer, after a series of Master Classes in Florida, McKechnie spent a week's holiday on Miami Beach and fell in love with it. She decided that she wanted to shorten her New York winter time and committed to taking the month of February off and spend it in Miami - being a tourist, enjoying the healthy environment and food, read, visit Miami City Ballet and even attend what will be her first visit to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, at the invitation of Lee Brian Schrager.

Then - as often happens ... BAM! ... A BOOKING .. in Miami smack dab in the middle of "the plan." "Perfect," McKechnie thought and she is genuinely excited to do her show, MY MUSICAL COMEDY LIFE at The Playground Theatre (formerly SHORES PERFORMING ARTS) .... A full size theatre (and everything that goes with it) ... to deliver the show at full theatrical throttle.

Donna McKechnie, Tony-Award winner and star of the original "A Chorus Line" performs her unique theatrical experience, "MY MUSICAL COMEDY LIFE" in an exclusive, South Florida engagement as part of The PlayGround Theatre's new project, Between Engagements. Ms. McKechnie, one of Broadway's most beloved and enduring stars appears in the limited, three-performance run at The PlayGround Theatre in Miami Shores on Saturday, February 12th at 8pm and Sunday, February 13th at 2pm and 7:30pm. "MY MUSICAL COMEDY LIFE," is Directed by Richard Jay-Alexander with Musical Direction by Eugene Gwozdz.

Tickets for the Saturday, February 12th performance are $50 and $100 (which includes premium seating & post-performance party). Sunday's 2pm performance tickets are $30, with 7:30pm performance tickets at $45. Tickets and information available at The PlayGround Theatre box office, 305-751-9550, www.theplaygroundtheatre.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

McKechnie is the house-guest of her director, Richard Jay-Alexander and it seems to be a match made in heaven. Jay-Alexander has to fly to L.A. for two days for MUSCARES tribute to Barbra Streisand, who is the 2011 honoree as PERSON OF THE YEAR. Then a 6:00 A.M. flight back to Miami for the Opening Night of McKechnie's thrilling show, which we saw at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, here in New York.
