After fighting a long battle with cancer, theater executive Harry S. Gold died on October 10, 2008. He was 50. As the executive director of business and legal affairs for Disney Theatrical Productions, Gold oversaw the company's musicals on Broadway and internationally, managing the business and legal affairs of such hits at THE LITTLE MERMAID, Mary Poppins and THE LION KING. Gold was born in New Haven, Connecticut, graduated from Wesleyan University and received a law degree from the Washington and Lee University of Law before working in Washington, D.C. as a litigation attorney.

Before joining Disney, and while attending the theater management program at Yale University's School of Drama, Gold was a management associate at Niko Associates/Marvin A. Krauss Associated, where he worked on the Broadway productions of THE GERSHWIN'S FASCINATING RHYTHM, VICTOR/VICTORIA, HELLO DOLLY! and INHERIT THE WIND.

He is survived by his parents. Donations can be made to Bideawee Home Association, Broadway Care/Equity Fights AIDS or Sarcoma Foundation of America.
