DREYFUS IN REHEARSAL — AGAIN to be Presented at The Tank NYC
The actor-written production also runs at NYU Bronfman Center, exploring Jewish identity and antisemitism.
Dreyfus in Rehearsal — Again will be running at The Tank from May 30 to June 30. A diverse troupe of actors and artists (though not diverse enough) gathers at an Off Off Broadway theater in New York City in 2026 to stage a play about a group of Jewish actors in Poland in 1931 staging a play about the Dreyfus Affair in France in 1896.
As rehearsals unfold, questions emerge about identity, antisemitism, theater, antisemitism, legitimate and illegitimate criticism, antisemitism, representation, antisemitism, and more.
A group of actor-writers have added their own layer to this 50-year-old play, in which they explore their own relationships to modern-day Jewish identity, the necessity (or lack thereof) of addressing antisemitism in 2026, and the correct use of the dirtiest word in human history: Zionist.
