ASD Media & Entertainment is proud to announce the production of the one-man show, Dear Henry, written and directed by Arthur Wooten and starring Luke Doyle. The show will run at The Duplex on Monday April 27, Sunday May 3, and Saturday, May 9.

While reexamining his colorful yet complicated relationship with his on again/off again lover Henry, Clark Compton Lowell III makes the best discovery anyone can make. He finds...himself.

Dear Henry explores the trials and tribulations of love, sex, dating, and relationships in the 21st century. Witty and satirical but laced with heart, Dear Henry is based upon the monthly column Wooten created for the London magazine reFRESH. In each issue of that gay publication he wrote a letter to his exasperating lover, Henry, explaining the never-ending reasons why they had to end their relationship. reFRESH readers fell in love with Arthur and couldn't wait for the next installment of DEAR HENRY. Wooten became the Carrie Bradshaw of London with Brits (both gay and straight) waiting to see what the two would get into next.

"When ASD Media approached me with the concept of adapting my Dear Henry column into a stage play, I was fascinated by the challenge," says Wooten. "The letters were a jumping-off point and with the casting of Luke, this project took on a life of its own. Every rehearsal has felt like a mini-workshop and I hope the play will delight audiences as much as I've enjoyed working on it."

In this staged production, we, the audience, wait for Henry Brimblecum's arrival as Clark shares with us the tumultuous roller coaster ride of a relationship they have shared. Reminiscing about their adventures together, Clark takes us on a journey from online chat rooms and underground sex parties to all gay cruises and drag queen karaoke. And as challenging as the ride has been, we all know, sometimes breaking up is really hard to do.

Luke Doyle is an NYU graduate that has been seen in numerous plays including Memory (Spellbound Theatre), Julius Caesar, Hamlet (Shakespeare2Go), Meta: A New Play (Pless Theatre), West Side Story (Skirball Center for the Arts), The History Boys (Snaffle Theatre Center), and Beyond Therapy (Triskillian Arts).

Arthur Wooten is author of the critically acclaimed books Leftovers, Birthday Pie, Dizzy, On Picking Fruit, Fruit Cocktail, Wise Bear William, and Arthur Wooten's Shorts. As a playwright his works include Birthday Pie, which was the winner of the Key West Theatre Festival and most recently it launched the new play reading series at the Irvington Town Hall Theater in Irvington, NY. His one act plays, Lily and The Lunch, have been produced in New York City and most recently in Te Anua, New Zealand. As a director his productions include: The Lunch, Just Say Hello and Smile, Birthday Pie, and Dear Henry.

Dear Henry runs Monday, April 27 at 7pm, Sunday May 3 at 7pm, and Saturday May 9 at 7pm at the Duplex 61 Christopher Street at 7th Avenue. Info & reservations: (212) 255-543. For more info and to purchase tickets online, visit: www.asdmedia.co/dear-henry.html
