Civic Theatre Of Allentown Hists Auditions For FIFTH OF JULY 12/14

Auditions for Civic Theatre of Allentown's February 2011 production of Fifth of July will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, December 14th in the rehearsAl Hall above Civic's 19th Street Theatre at 527 N. 19th Street in Allentown. Callbacks will be held later that week. Actors will be asked to perform a cold reading at the audition, or sides will also be available at the theater beginning on Monday, December 6th.

Actors who wish to audition should do the following:
Bring a picture of themselves, in which their face is clearly visible.
Bring a list of their conflicts from audition date until the show's close.
Here is a list of characters for the cast of Fifth of July:
Kenneth Talley, Jr.- 32
Jed Jenkins- 25
June Talley- 35
Shirley Talley- 14*
*Any actress auditioning for the role of Shirley must appear 14 and be willing to use inappropriate language.
John Landis- 33

Written by Lanford Wilson, Fifth of July is set in Missouri in 1977 and focuses on a group of friends who spent their college years together as activists, joined in the idealistic fight for a more peaceful and better world. Now grown up, the friends must reconcile real life with their dreams.

The New York Times called Fifth of July the "wisest and funniest play of its generation." Civic will be the first to bring this play to the Lehigh Valley.

Civic Theatre will produce Fifth of July in Civic's 19th Street Theatre from Friday, February 18th through Sunday, February 27th. The show will be directed by Civic Artistic Director William Sanders.
