Cherry Jones, the two-time Tony Award-winning star of Broadway's Doubt, is featured in Out Magazine's annual "Out 100" list of notable gay and lesbian newsmakers of 2005. The magazine is currently on newsstands.

The magazine writes: "Like Julie Harris or Colleen Dewhurst a generation before her, Cherry Jones is that rare actor whose brilliance and fame don't diminish her commitment to live theater (although her cameo as Matt Damon's mother in Ocean's Twelve is a beauty). This year she brought home her second Tony for her stunning portrayal of an obdurate nun in Doubt."

Cherry Jones is starring in Doubt through January 8 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street). Four-time Tony Award-nominee Eileen Atkins will assume the role of Sister Aloysius on Tuesday, January 10.  On the same day, Ron Eldard will succeed co-star Brian F. O'Byrne.

Doubt is written by John Patrick Shanley, and directed by Doug Hughes. The production was the most honored play of the 2004-2005 season, receiving the 2005 Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, among a number of others. " Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, Doubt is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues…even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?," state press notes.

Doubt's set design is by John Lee Beatty, costume design is by Catherine Zuber, lighting design is by Pat Collins, and original music and sound design is by David Van Tieghem. Doubt is produced by Carole Shorenstein Hays, MTC Productions Inc. (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer), Roger Berlind and Scott Rudin.

The performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Tickets are available by calling Telecharge.com at 212: 239-6200 or at the Walter Kerr Theatre box office (219 West 48th Street).
