Champlin's 'Finishing the Hat' Returns to Birdland 9/30

OBIE winner Donna Lynne Champlin brings her acclaimed one-woman show Finishing The Hat back to Birdland on Sunday, September 30 at 7PM, in continuation of "Broadway at Birdland."  This series features top Broadway performers and songwriters at the legendary music room, located at 315 West 44th Street in Manhattan.  The evening of stories and songs will feature Tom Kitt (High Fidelity) on piano.

"Finishing The Hat is a hilarious and inspired pairing of stories and songs from Donna Lynne's professional and personal adventures (such as 'Stalking Brian D'Arcy James' and 'The Worst Audition Ever') that the audience picks randomly from a hat," describe press ntoes.

Since playing 'Pirelli" (and the accordion, flute and piano) in the ground-breaking Broadway production of Sweeney Todd, actress, singer, musician and writer Donna Lynne Champlin most recently won the coveted 'Best Actress' OBIE award for her performance of "Cora Flood' in The Transport Group's production of The Dark At The Top of the Stairs.  She also was awarded the 'Outstanding Actress' award for her portrayal of 'Gracie' in the NYMF's production of Flight Of The Lawnchair Man.  Champlin's has also starred in the Broadway productions of James Joyce's The Dead, By Jeeves and Hollywood Arms.
