Casey Cott, Stark Sands, Marin Mazzie and Solea Pfeiffer to Star in PRINCE OF EGYPT Concert in Long Island

Bay Street Theater and DreamWorks Theatricals will present a premiere concert reading of the new stage adaptation of THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, book by Philip LaZebnik (writer of Mulan, Pocahontas) and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked, Pippin, Godspell).

This is a special FREE one-night concert event on Saturday, August 13 at 7 pm in Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor, NY. This free concert reading will be the first ever public performance of the full script and score of this new musical and will feature minimal staging and actors performing with scripts in hand.

This new musical, based on the blockbuster DreamWorks animated film and featuring the Academy-Award-winning song "When You Believe," tells the epic story of Moses and his journey from being a Prince of Egypt to the deliverer of his people.

The cast for the concert includes Casey Cott (playing lead in the CW's upcoming Archie) as Moses; Stark Sands (American Idiot, Kinky Boots) as Ramses; Tony Award winner Shuler Hensley (Waiting for Godot, Young Frankenstein, Oklahoma) as Pharaoh Seti; Marin Mazzie (The King and I, Kiss Me Kate) as Queen Tuya; Solea Pfeiffer (West Side Story at the Hollywood Bowl) as Tzipporah; J.C. Montgomery (Shuffle Along, The Scottsboro Boys) as Jethro; Ryan Knowles (We Will Rock You, host of Nickelodeon's ME:TV) as High Priest Hotep; John Cariani (Something Rotten, Fiddler on the Roof ) as Aaron; Julia Motyka (Travesties at Bay Street Theater,Richard III ) as Miriam; Joanna Howard (Peter and the Starcatcher) as Nefertari; Desi Oakley (Les Miserables, Wicked) as Yocheved; and Dakota Quackenbush (Grey Gardens at Bay Street Theater) as Young Miriam. The cast will also include Alysha Deslorieux, Brian Flores, and Destan Owens in the ensemble and choral singing by Long Island's St. Anthony's Choir.

The concert will be directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street's Artistic Director, and will feature musical direction by Dominick Amendum. Casting is by Stewart/Whitley.

"Over the past two years, Bay Street has presented free outdoor staged readings of Shakespeare in Sag Harbor," says Artistic Director Scott Schwartz, "This year we continue the tradition of free outdoor performance with this world premiere concert reading. Bay Street is proud to be a home for the development of major new musical theater works for the stage, and we are so excited to partner with producers Bill Damaschke, Dori Berinstein and the team at DreamWorks Theatricals and to give the East End audience the chance to be the first to experience this full, two act adaptation of the beloved film, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT."

This concert is sponsored also in part by Mashashimuet Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and blankets to enjoy this FREE show at sunset! There will also be a pre-concert Patron's Party available, including an opportunity to meet members of the cast and creative team.
