JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

How to Look Good Naked’s Carson Kressley to team up with MANHATTAN HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY ASSOCIATES and GALLERIA ON THIRD to host an art exhibit to benefit the Cancer Center at Bellevue Hospital.
December 4 – December 20, Special Reception December 4

New York: Carson Kressley, host of the Lifetime’s “How to Look Good Naked” and of Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” will team up with Manhattan Hematology Oncology Associates p.c.(Karen J. Haglof, M.D. Alec S. Goldenberg M.D..) and   Galleria on Third, New York’s  premiere framing gallery, to host an art exhibit to benefit the Cancer Center at Bellevue Hospital.  This two-week event will begin on December 4 and continue through December 20, 2008. There will be a special reception on Thursday, December 4, from 6-9pm,Galleria On Third is located at 529 3rd avenue (Between 35 & 36 Street). The exhibit is free to attend and is open to the public.

Artists featured in this exhibition include: Carson Kressley, Romero Britto, Marc Tetro as well as art work from TheCreativeCenterArts.org(an organization that represents professional artist living with illness.)

Carson Kressley is an accomplished stylist, breakout television star, equestrian, author and now fashion designer, Carson Kressley is out to make-over the world. Kressley is one of the stars of the hit original series "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" for the Bravo Network. He is also a New York Times best-selling author of the "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" companion book. His sharp wit and undeniable sense of style made him one of the standouts of the show. The show won the 2004 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Reality Program," was nominated for a 2005 Emmy Award in the same category and recently shot its 100th episode. Airing in over 95 countries, the cultural impact of the show has proven to be been tremendous, helping to bring gay culture to mainstream American audiences.

Kressley recently launched, to great success, his new collection of women's wear and men's wear, Perfect by Carson Kressley, exclusively on QVC. The collection for women includes career staples while the collection for men focuses on rich outerwear pieces. An industry veteran, Kressley is known for his modern and sophisticated approach to fashion, which he has translated into a "classics with a twist" line of separates and accessories.

Kressley made a cameo appearance as an elf in the holiday re-make of "The Year Without a Santa Clause," starring Delta Burke and John Goodman (2006). He recently co-starred in the film "The Perfect Man" with Heather Locklear, Hilary Duff and Chris Noth (2005.) His upcoming television projects includes CW's "Crowned" and Lifetime's "How to Look Good Naked."

In 2006, Kressley celebrated the release of his children's book "You're Different and That's Super" for Simon and Schuster. The book, illustrated by Jared Lee and touted by Oprah, tells the story of a young pony who doesn't quite fit in with his peers. His New York Times' best-seller "Off the Cuff," written in Kressley's witty and energetic style, is an essential style guide for men and for the women who love them.

In addition to doing his part in helping to bridge the gap between peoples of different genders and sexual orientations, Kressley is an avid philanthropist, championing a wide array of charities and organizations. A strong supporter of many gay rights causes, he lends his celebrity to the Human Rights Campaign Federal Club, the 2004 AIDS Walk in New York City, GLAAD (The Gay and Lesbian Association Against Defamation), Heritage of Pride, Inc., The Trevor Project and GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network.) Kressley was a major donor in establishing the first college scholarship program for gay youth in his hometown of Allentown, Penn. Also an advocate of medical interests and mental health causes, Kressley is a member of the Lay Advisory Board for the NYU's Medical Center's Mental Illness Prevention Center and recently participated in Katie Couric's annual fund raiser for The Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health in conjunction with The National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance. He recently donated his time to consult on a NYC shopping spree to the Dream Foundation, which enhances the quality of life for individuals and families battling terminal illnesses by granting dreams and wishes. Kressley is also a proud member of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
