Bway Understudies and Standbys Featured in At This Performance, Oct. 23 & 24

Musicals Tonight! will continue its ongoing salute to Broadway's standbys and understudies with its current editions of At This Performance, to be held on Sunday, October 23rd and Monday, October 24th at the 45th Street Theatre (354 West 45th Street) at 8 PM.

Hosted by casting director Stephen DeAngelis, the popular series "allows performers to display their versatility and share anecdotes about their experiences," state press notes. Eugene Gwozdz will be the musical director and accompaniest for both evenings.

The October 23rd concert will feature Neal Benari (the roles of Tevye, Lazar Wolf and the Constable in Fiddler on the Roof), Michelle Dowdy (the role of Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray), Rona Figueroa (the female roles in Lennon), Michael Halling (the role of J.T. in In My Life), Blake Hammond (the roles of Edna Turnblad, Wilbur Turnblad and the Male Authority Figure in Hairspray), Kenita R. Miller (the role of Celie in The Color Purple) and Darin Murphy (the male roles in Lennon).

On October 24th, Justin Bohon (the role of Dean Hyde in All Shook Up), Joyce Chittick (the role of Nickie in Sweet Charity), Robert Creighton (the role of Goran in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Kisha Howard (the role of Helene in Sweet Charity), Carol Linnea Johnson (the roles of Donna Sheridan and Tanya in Mamma Mia!), Dirk Lombard (the roles of Boris and Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Kate Wetherhead (the roles of Olive Ostrovsky, Loggainne Schwartzand-grubenierre and Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and Lisa Yuen (the roles of Marcy Park, Rona Lisa Peretti and Olive Ostrowsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) will take center stage.
