The New York premiere of Judi Lee Brandwein's Fornicationally Challenged will run as part of the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, with performances beginning August 12th at Manhattan Children's Theatre (52 White Street, between Broadway and Church Street) in Manhattan. Mark Travis (Chazz Palminteri's A Bronx Tale) directs.

Written and performed by Judi Lee Brandwein, the show "follows the hilarious misadventures of a recently divorced woman -- over 40 and at her sexual peak -- who returns to the singles' scene after nearly two decades and discovers new rules of dating in a world where hormones surge, sex has strings attached, and men come in different shapes and sizes. 'Thirty-five-year-old men are the new women!' observes Brandwein of her dates who want a commitment while all she wants is a little action," state press notes.

Fornicationally Challenged was developed in the solo workshop at Travis-Johntz Productions in Los Angeles where it opened to positive reviews and was recommended by the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly and Metro LA.

Papa Ball Productions in association with Bespoke Ltd and The Present Company will present the solo show.

Originally from Chicago, where she acquired a background in improv, Brandwein moved to Los Angeles to embark on a career in writing and performing. In addition to Fornicationally Challenged, Ms. Brandwein is the author of the screenplays Natural Woman and Don't Fall Back, as well as the television pilot "Back to One" (formerly known as "Hey Jude"), which was a finalist in the Slamdance Teleplay Competition.

Performances run Saturday, August 12 at 8:30pm; Wednesday, August 16 at 4:30pm; Sunday, August 20  at 8:30pm; Thursday, August 24 at 7:00pm; and Friday, August 25 at 4:30pm at Manhattan Children's Theatre (52 White Street, between Broadway and Church Street), as part of The 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival.
