As first reported on Deadline.com, Book Of Mormon co-creator Bobby Lopez has just signed a blind script deal with ABC Studios to write an upcoming comedy project for the network.

Lopez's previous TV credits include composing the music for the Nickelodeon series 'The Wonder Pets' for which he received two Daytime Emmy awards. In addition, he wrote four songs for the 'My Musical' episode of the NBC comedy 'Scrubs' for which he received an Emmy nomination. The composer made his writing debut on an episode of Comedy Central's 'South Park', a series which was created and is executive produced by his Book of Mormon cohorts Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Lopez's first two Broadway musicals, Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon, are both critical and commercial smash hits and Best Musical Tony Award winners. He shared Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Book for The Book of Mormon. He also shared a Tony for Best Original Score and a Grammy nomination for Avenue Q, which he co-wrote and conceived.

With his wife and collaborator Kristen Anderson-Lopez, he co-wrote songs for Winnie the Pooh (Disney feature animation, 2011) and Finding Nemo: The Musical (playing at Walt Disney World since 2006).
