Theo Bleckmann will return to Joe's Pub with "Las Vegas Rhapsody (The Night They Invented Champagne)," with Fumio Yasuda and a string quartet led by Todd Reynolds, for one night only, on Wednesday, April 18th at 7:30pm.

The show, produced by Stefan Winter, "may be one of Winter and Winter Records most unusual projects, but non-the-less a true musical abduction into the great show of Las Vegas. Many have managed to gain eternal fame in Nevada's 'Sin City,' among some of the greatest - Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Wayne Newton, Liberace and Siegfried & Roy – they all owe their incomparable careers to Las Vegas, as no other place has laid the groundwork for the world of entertainment, as rigorously as this appallingly kitschy, gloriously neon-lit palace; the greatest stage & most notorious gambling den in the world!," state press materials.

"To celebrate 100 years of Las Vegas entertainment, Japanese composer, arranger and pianist, Fumio Yasuda adapted and orchestrated some of the greatest show tunes including 'Out of My Dreams,' 'Luck be a Lady,' and 'My Favorite Things,' with German-born, New York singer, Theo Bleckmann in mind. Bleckmann, who sings with a cultivated, pure and deeply personal voice, never emerges as the interpreter of the works; he becomes the song, fusing his persona, the text and the melody into a unity, creating the illusion of being a show-stopping star in Las Vegas."

Bleckmann has been a steady force in the New York music scene for over a decade. The special return engagement features music inspired by Steve and Eydie, Doris Day, and Louis Prima and Keely Smith.

Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street.  Tickets are $15.  For reservations, call Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or visit www.telecharge.com
