MCC Theater, in association with Kurt Deutsch, President of Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records, will hold an invite-only workshop presentation of the new musical ALICE BY HEART, the latest collaboration from Tony and Grammy winning Spring Awakening composers Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater. ALICE BY HEART, a re-imagining of the classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, features a book by Steven Sater with Jessie Nelson, lyrics by Steven Sater, and music by Duncan Sheik.

A private presentation of the material, directed by Lear Debessonet, will be held today, December 18, 2015, by invitation only. ALICE BY HEART represents the latest example of MCC Theater's year-round commitment to the development of new works for the American theater.

The workshop stars Riley Costello, Noah Galvin, Molly Gordon, David Patrick Kelly, Andrew Mueller, Ashley Park, Ben Platt, Anthony Ramos, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Tony nominee Mary Testa. Casting by Telsey + Company/Craig Burns, CSA.

How do you leave childhood behind? How do you close the book -- while holding onto the one you love -- when the world has gone mad? From the Tony and Grammy Award winning creators of Spring Awakening, comes a remarkable new musical re-imagining of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

The creative team for the workshop presentation of ALICE BY HEART includes choreography by Chase Brock, music direction by Chris Fenwick, and music supervision by Jason Hart.
