Two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago, Sweet Charity) will perform excerpts from her acclaimed solo concert Stories With Piano to benefit off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company on Monday evening, June 8 at Twenty Four Fifth (24 Fifth Avenue at 10th Street). Single tickets are $400 and include an exclusive cocktail reception at 6:45 followed by an elegant sit down dinner, live auction (led by Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare) and the concert. Now in its 41st year as one of New York's most exciting theatres, Classic Stage Company is the award-winning Off-Broadway theatre committed to re-imagining the classical repertory for a contemporary American audience. Led by Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, the company this season presented three sold-out acclaimed productions: Shakespeare's The Tempest, starring Mandy Patinkin; Chekhov's Uncle Vanya starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Denis O'Hare and Peter Sarsgaard; and Anne Carson's An Oresteia. Recent productions include: critically acclaimed sold out runs of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, starring Dianne Wiest and Alan Cumming, and the world premiere of David Ives' New Jerusalem, directed by Walter Bobbie.

Classic Stage's artists are the best-established and emerging theater practitioners working in this country. Bebe Neuwirth: Raised in Princeton, NJ, Bebe Neuwirth has established herself as a versatile performer on stage, film, and television. Bebe has been crossing the country with Bebe Sings Weill and Kander & Ebb for the past two years, working with such venerable symphonies as the Seattle Symphony and the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. Recent concert performances include a piano/cabaret show, Stories With Piano, which opened at Feinstein's in NYC to rave reviews.

Her most recent Broadway appearance was as Roxie in Chicago, the same production for which she won a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and an Astaire Award for her turn as Velma, making her the only triple-threat to play both leading lady roles on Broadway. She also received a Tony Award for her role as Nickie in Sweet Charity. Her other Broadway credits include Fosse, Damn Yankees, Dancin', Little Me and A Chorus Line. In addition, she has performed leading roles in numerous Regional Theater Productions including West Side Story for the Cleveland Opera, the title role in Kiss of the Spiderwoman on London's West End, The Three Penny Opera at A.C.T., and Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew at Williamstown Theater Festival. In the summer of 2004, Bebe completed a successful run of Here's Lies Jenny at the Zipper Theater in New York. The show played the next year in San Francisco to rave reviews. Comprised of music by Kurt Weill, the show was created by Leslie Stifelman, Roger Rees, Ann Reinking, and Ms. Neuwirth.

Ms. Neuwirth's work in film includes Liberty Heights, Summer of Sam, Celebrity, Jumanji, The Green Card, The Paint Job, Bugsy and Tadpole among others. On television she is well known for her role of Lilith Sternin on "Cheers," for which she won two Emmy Awards. Other television appearances include her Emmy nominated portrayal of Dorothy Parker in "Dash and Lily" and guest work on "Frasier" and "Star Trek, the Next Generation." A few seasons ago, she starred for NBC in "Law and Order - Trial by Jury."

Ms. Neuwirth is a recipient of the 2007 Dance Magazine Award, the 2007 CTFD Rolex Dance Award and in 1997 became an Honorary Ziegfeld Girl. She is a vice-president of The Actors' Fund, for whom she recently founded The Dancers' Resource.
