It's rumored that Barneys has had secret talks with Jay-Z about a possible future collaboration, maybe for the holiday campaign.
Jay Z's own interests have extended in several directions lately, including the art world. He recently filmed a video for "Picasso Baby" and partnered with Samsung as part of the release of his new album "Magna Carta...Holy Grail." The album features a song called "Tom Ford" which is just one example of him crossing into the fashion world.WWD could not reach executives at Barneys for a comment, but the store has increasingly been amping up its holiday extravaganzas, notably with Lady Gaga in 2011 and the Walt Disney Co. last year.
