Kaufman Music Center's Broadway Close Up series kicked off earlier this week, giving Broadway fans the behind the scenes experience of musicals old and new with eye-opening interviews and inspiring performances by some of Broadway's greatest talents at the renowned Merkin Concert Hall.

This year, get to know Jason Robert Brown, the Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist of The Bridges of Madison County, and the songs of Gypsy songwriter Jule Styne. Take a sneak peek at five new shows on their way to New York theaters at Bound for Broadway with Liz Callaway. Plus, find out everything you always wanted to know about Heaven, God and the eternal questions, courtesy of Broadway's greatest writers at Hallelujah, Broadway. This week's show was titited, Bound for Broadway- featuring songs and scenes from some of the best new musicals on their way to New York theaters. The event featured music from Tuck Everlasting (Based on the book by Natalie Babbitt. Music by Chris Miller; lyrics by Nathan Tysen; book by Claudia Shear), Ever After (Music by Zina Goldrich; book & lyrics by Marcy Heisler), Date of a Lifetime (Music by Rob Baumgarten, Jr.; book & lyrics by Carl Kissin), When We Met (Music & lyrics by Julianne Wick Davis; book by Dan Collins in collaboration with Sally Wilfert & Michael Winther).
