THE NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL and Kim Vasquez/ GRAY LADY ENTERTAINMENT, INC. team up again with this year's PLAGUED - A LOVE STORY with book and lyrics by VYNNIE MELI and music by CASEY L. FILIACI. Directed by SAMUEL BUGGELN (Bedbugs!) with musical direction by ZAK SANDLER.
The cast includes: Brenda Braxton - Smokey Joe's Café, Jelly's Last Jam, Legs Diamond, Dreamgirls and Cats. Lorraine Serabian Zorba, The Flowering Peach, Carmelina, Cabaret ('66), Natalie Bradshaw, Julian Brightman (Hello Dolly, Peter Pan), Pierce Cravens (The Adventures ! Of Tom Sawyer, A Christmas Carol, Ragtime, Titantic, Beauty And The Beast), Dale Hensley (The Drowsey Chaperone, La Cage Aux Folles, Sunset Boulevard, Guys and Dolls and Anything Goes), Gina Milo (Les Miserables), JIM SORENSON, LA' NETTE SEARCY, Jason Simon and REBECCA STAVIS.
The design team for PLAGUED - A LOVE STORY includes sets DANIEL ZIMMERMAN, costumes JANELL BERTE, lighting DANS MAREE SHEEHAN, props ERIC REYNOLDS , music direction ZAK SANDLER, Casting JOY DEWING - Dave Clemmons Casting, marketing associate WILLIAM FERRALL and Production Stage Manager ANDREA WALES.

Although composer Andrew Lloyd Webber wasn’t in the house, and will miss tonight’s opening of his new musical, Bad Cinderella (the first time he’s ever been absent one of his Broadway opening nights), the cast and entire sold-out crowd sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to the Tony Award winning Broadway legend and wheeled out a five-foot birthday cake after the bows at the show’s final preview performance last night.
