As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Tony winner Jessie Mueller will star in American Repertory Theater's world premiere of WAITRESS this fall. Mueller was on the red carpet for the opening night of THE VISIT last night, and while she was there she stopped to chat with BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge about the upcoming role, as well as the buzz surrounding a BEAUTIFUL movie. Check out what she had to say below!

With book by Jessie Nelson and music & lyrics by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles ("Brave", "Love Song"), WAITRESS is based on the motion picture written byAdrienne Shelly and will be directed by Diane Paulus (PIPPIN, FINDING NEVERLAND) at the Loeb Drama Center, beginning August 1.

Mueller last starred on Broadway in BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, for which she won a Tony Award last year. Among her past credits are ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER (which earned her a Tony nomination), NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. She also recently appeared in INTO THE WOODS at the Delacorte and in the New York Philharmonic's production of CAROUSEL.
