Award-winning playwright and cult downtown comic, Andrea Alton returns to the New York International Fringe Festival with an all new multi-character solo show, Possum Creek.

Naive young Civil War bride Beth Ann discovers the joys, heartbreaks and befuddlement of waiting at home for her soldier husband in Possum Creek, Ohio. In a solo show featuring a dozen characters and spanning 30 years, Possum Creek skewers Civil War epics and the documentaries they inspire, and features illicit loves, plagues, a possible romantic interlude with Harriet Tubman, illegitimate babies, and of course, a beloved pig.

Andrea Alton has been involved with FringeNYC since 2003 when she was cast as the lead in Jay Duffer's dark comedy Big Girl, Little World. Additional FringeNYC credits include the 2009 two-person comedy Carl & Shelly, Best Friends Forever (actor/co-writer with Allen Warnock) and the riotous 2011 solo show The F*cking World According To Molly (writer/performer) which was later produced at terraNOVA's soloNOVA Festival and The Dublin Gay International Theatre Festival.

This quirky twelve character play is directed by Eric Chase, whose work is regularly seen at The Dysfunctional Theatre Company and Emerging Artists Theatre. Possum Creek is presented in association with Emerging Artists Theatre and is produced by Irwin Kroot, whose previous credits include The F*cking World According To Molly, and numerous productions at The Laurie Beechman Theatre and with Kaleidoscope Theatre Company.

The creative team includes costume & properties design by Anthony Catanzaro (The F*cking World According To Molly/FringeNYC), press associate Byrne Harrison, dramaturgy by Paul Adams (Artistic Director, Emerging Artists Theatre), stage management by Deidre Works, and production voice-overs by Allen Warnock (The Knick/Cinemax).
