Alex James Ellison To Launch New Single YOURS at Above The Arts, 3 June

Actor/singer/songwriter Alex James Ellison, who supported Samantha Barks on her UK concert tour in 2016, will launch his new single, "Yours", with a concert at the West End's Above The Arts Studio Theatre on Sunday, 3 June.

Brighton-born Ellison has performed at venues all around London and the UK and was the 2016 Pride's Got Talent winner, performing on the Trafalgar Square stage during Pride in London.

He trained at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Mountview Academy of Performing Arts and recently played the role of Dickon in the critically acclaimed actor-muso production of Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman's The Secret Garden at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester.

He has also played roles in a number of Off-West End musicals, including Apartment 40C (St James Studio and London Theatre Workshop) and Whistle Down The Wind (Union Theatre), and starred in Aliens Love Underpants on its international tour and at the Dominion Theatre.

He is the co-writer (with Stiles and Drewe prize winner Tom Lees) of the musical Fiver, which was staged at Crazy Coqs in November 2017. In 2014 he released his debut EP Duvet Days and has also recorded and released two singles, "Chocolate Bar" and "That's Why I Do". Now he is set to release his latest self-penned single with an intimate acoustic launch gig.

Alex will be joined on stage at Above The Arts by special guests Rebecca Levy (a fresh new singer/songwriter, whose songs are mostly witty stories about her extensive bad luck with boys, and who is currently in the process of writing and recording her new EP How To Keep Your Girlfriend 101), and UK country girl band Houston (who recently released their debut EP Manuscripts).

"Yours" was recorded at Auburn Jam Music Studio and will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and all online platforms and a music video will be launched on the same day. Two additional Alex James Ellison singles will be released during the course of the summer.
