Aber & Braver, Songsmith + Songbird to Play The Beechman

Big Thunder Productions presents Aber & Braver (we almost rhyme). Dana Aber & Wes Braver have joined forces to share an evening of new music. From Wes, a collection of new compositions, and for Dana, new songs written just for her by a collection of great NYC composers. Songsmith + Songbird: sad songs + dad songs; sensitive songs & pensive songs; he sings + she sings.

Wes Braver is a composer-lyricist from Washington, D.C. Past work includes musicals; "Hear No Evil in the Year 2090," and "Galapago," a song cycle; "Space Cases," and "METADATA," an electro-pop concept album about Edward Snowden. His music and lyrics were featured in the musical film "Chatsworth," which premiered at HBO's New York Latino Film Festival. His musical, "Medusa," co-written with Rachel Dean, will premiere Off-Broadway at The Players Theatre in 2018. Wes holds a B.A. in Music from Colorado College and an M.F.A. from NYU Tisch's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.

Dana Aber has been seen in NYC Off-Broadway, at the NYFringe Festival, NYMF, Apollo Theatre, and FDCAC/Classical Theatre of Harlem. Theatrically, she's played across the country and across the seas. A strong advocate for the development of new musicals, she has been involved with countless presentations at New Dramatists, Below 54, NYMF, NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, & Dramatists Guild. She also proudly helms Big Thunder Productions.

Big Thunder Productions is a Production Company committed to the creation and proliferation of new works, and has created 7 concerts of original musical theatre songs designed to share the music of over 50 composers during its first few years, most notably the bi-coastal #YesAllWomen Raise Your Voice concert, that linked artists across the country to the cultural movement for gender equality.

With music direction by Rachel Dean, Aber & Braver (we almost rhyme) will be presented Sunday January 21 at 7pm, at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on 407 W 42nd Street at 9th Ave. Tickets $10, available on the Laurie Beechman website through Ovation Tickets; does not include $20 food & bev minimum, but definitely includes quality entertainment.
