'2 Pianos 4 Hands' Play the Penguin Rep, Opens Tonite 10/19

After a sell-out engagement this past June at America's oldest professional summer theatre, The Cape Cod Playhouse, 2 Pianos 4 Hands, starring Evans Haile and Andrew Gerle will be re-mounted this fall with performances beginning October 19 at the award-winning Penguin Repertory Company – Rockland County's year-round, non-profit professional theatre located Stony Point, New York.  Written by Richard Greenblatt and Ted Dykstra, the production features 20 songs, from Beethoven to Paul Anka, performed live on two grand pianos.

"Under the directorial hand of Tom Frey, 2 Pianos 4 Hands is the riotous tale of two boys sharing the same goal – concert pianist stardom. They work towards their dream amidst pushy parents, eccentric teachers, hours of practice, stage fright, competitions and the dream of greatness," explain press notes.

Actor Andrew Gerle has, at the age of 35, already begun to shape a unique musical career that spans the worlds of musical theatre, classical music, film and dance. As a composer, he is the recipient of a 2006 Jonathan Larson Award, and a three-time winner of the prestigious Richard Rodgers Award. Actor Evans Haile is the producer/host of the "Toast of Town" specials on National Public Radio, has been a principal guest conductor with many major orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic and the Boston POPS, and is currently the Producing Artistic Director of the historic Cape Playhouse in Dennis, Massachusetts.

2 Pianos 4 Hands, which originated in Ontario in 1994, has been presented in more than 150 cities in North America, Europe, Asia (Japan and Hong Kong), Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, playing to more than 2 million people worldwide.
