Lot in Life Productions and Egads! Theatre Company, in association with the Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival present the New York premiere of THANK YOU NOTES: Headed to Heaven with Flat Jimmy Fallon by playwright Vicki Vodrey (HANKY PANKY, 2011 Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival – nominated for three MITF Awards including Outstanding New Play) and directed by Steven Eubank (Artistic Director, Egads! Theatre Company - Voted Kansas City's Best Local Theatre Company 2011) as part of the thirteenth annual Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival (MITF) at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 W. 36th Street) with performances tonight, July 30th at 6pm; Wed, August 1st at 6pm; Fri, August 3rd at 9:15pm and Sat, August 4th at 8pm.

Funerals aren't usually funny occasions, but in Vicki Vodrey's dark comedy THANK YOU NOTES: Headed to Heaven with Flat Jimmy Fallon even the deceased is laughing…really! Angela took her own life with a bullet to her head. Her will stated three requests – to bury her with her dog Ollie's ashes, to put her cardboard cut-out of Jimmy Fallon in the casket, and for her twin, Ethan, to give her eulogy by reading the handwritten thank you notes that she left behind - to be delivered in the fashion of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon's Thank You Notes segment. Wild and funny, quirky yet touching, come experience this send-off of a dark comedy that has laughs, tears, twists, and most of all – heart.

Directed by Steven Eubank, THANK YOU NOTES: Headed to Heaven with Flat Jimmy Fallon features an award-winning Kansas City cast of Vanessa Severo, Scott Cox and Mandy Mook.

Design team for THANK YOU NOTES is Alex Perry as Set Designer and Jeff Eubank for Sound Design.

The MITF production of THANK YOU NOTES: Headed to Heaven with Flat Jimmy Fallon is an Equity Approved Showcase and will come on the heels of a Kansas City Fringe production of the play with the same cast and design team presented in Kansas City, MO from July 21 through July 27.

Vicki Vodrey's play HANKY PANKY – which was part of the 12th annual MITF – was nominated for three MITF awards, Outstanding New Play, Outstanding Productions of a Play, and Outstanding Ensemble. Robert Trussell of the Kansas City Star called it "a cleverly constructed play that sneaks up on you,"  the Kansas City Free Press said, "Playwright Vicki Vodrey skips the simmering, and goes to comic boiling," and Examiner.com said "Hanky Panky should be remembered for one of the funniest death bed scenes in memory."

Playwright Vicki Vodrey's play TREMBLES was a winner of the Gorilla Theatre Playwriting Competition.  Her play HANKY PANKY was a top-rated play at the 2010 KC Fringe Festival and placed in the top ten in the TRU Voices Playwriting Competition that same year. HANKY PANKY was also a selection in last season's Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival, and was nominated for three MITF Awards (Outstanding New Play, Outstanding Productions of a Play, and Outstanding Ensemble). Additionally, Lot in Life Productions, in collaboration with The Show Goes On Productions, will present a workshop of HANKY PANKY in NYC during January of2013. Vicki is honored to be one of finalists to compete on the first year of PROJECT PLAYWRIGHT. She will be directing four short plays for KC Fringe titled 4PLAY. She has worked as an actor and acting coach in KC, NY and LA. She is a member of Actors' Equity Association and the Dramatists' Guild.

John Chatterton created the MITF in 2000, a midtown alternative to other theatre festivals, as a way to present the finest Off-Off Broadway talent in convenience, comfort, and safety. In 2003, the MITF moved its activities to their current location, the Theatre Building on W. 36th St., where it has been successfully ensconced since. The MITF's artistic emphasis is on the script itself, and therefore the Festival focuses on minimal production values.
