A holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol, performs for two weeks December 19-28, with one Pay-As-You-Can preview on December 18, in the Discovery Theatre at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. With five productions in Juneau and Anchorage, Perseverance continues its commitment to statewide programming and expanding its community of audience and artisans. The season opens with An Iliad tonight, September 5 - 28 in Juneau while Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike plays in Anchorage September 12 - 21.

The Alaska stories include the remount of the world premiere production of The Blue Bear adapted from Southeast writer Lynn Schooler's book, and Warriors, a world premiere by Alaskan author Dave Hunsaker about Alaska Natives in war at different times in history. The third play will be the hilarious 2013 Tony Award winner for Best Play: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang. In addition to this programming, Perseverance will present public readings of new plays and offer professional training opportunities through its Alaska Summer Theatre Institute. Summerfest runsJune 28 through August 6 at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center (JACC) in Downtown Juneau.
