Time Stands Still, by Donald Margulies, will play at the Adobe Theater from September 16 - October 9, 2011.

The names of Bob Woodward, Kimberly Dozier and Lara Logan are familiar to all who follow the news; but they are only three of the badly wounded war reporters who have returned to tell their stories; others, like Daniel Pearl, murdered in Pakistan, have their stories told by others.

In his marvelous play, "Time Stands Still," Donald Margulies (author of the Pulitzer Prize winning "Dinner With Friends" and the recent hit, "Brooklyn Boy") portrays the difficulties of James, a writer, and Sarah, a photojournalist, who return from the Middle East with both physical and psychological wounds. They have been a couple for years and are considering marriage, but her addiction to danger gets in the way of choosing a more stable life. Others in the play are Richard, their old friend and photo editor, and Mandy, his much younger partner and soon-to-be wife.

Sarah is played by Taunya Crilly (the blind Susie in "Wait Until Dark") and James by Richard Boehler, recently seen in "12 Angry Men." Richard is played by John Wylie (from "The Oldest Living Graduate"), and newcomer Christie Carter, last seen performing Shakespeare on the Rail Runner, appears as Mandy.

Matt Heath (who last directed "Prelude to a Kiss" at the ADOBE) has chosen this strong drama laced with humor to explore the relationships of frontline war-time journalists to their subjects, including translators, and their editors, along with the traumas that complicate those relationships.
