Oasis Takes Over Teatro Paraguas This February The Oasis Theatre Company is proud to present its inaugural season in Santa Fe. After presenting a run of Marriage by the Masters at the Adobe Rose last summer and participating in Santa Fe's first annual Theatre Walk presenting David Mamet's Dark Pony, we are excited to be producing our first season at Teatro Paraguas. The season consists of David Mamet's The Water Engine and Neil Simon's The Good Doctor in February and March 2018, respectively.

The Water Engine is one of Mamet's finest plays. Originally written as a radio play for National Public Radio, it was first staged in 1977 by St. Nicholas Theater Company in Chicago, Illinois. Utilizing its origins as a radio play, our production, directed by Brenda Lynn Bynum, will be staged as a combination of a radio play and a theatrical play. Where the emotions are heightened and the radio can no longer contain the story, the scenes will break out into theatrical performance.

The story centers around a young inventor who has created an engine that runs on water. When he tries to patent it, he soon discovers that there are forces out there that don't want that to happen. A thriller as only Mamet could pen.

The cast comprises six actors playing a variety of roles. They are as follows: Nicholas Ballas, D. Davis, James Jenner, Matthew Montoya, Talia Pura, Tallis Rose, and Karen Gruber Ryan. Lighting Designer Jeffrey Tarnoff and Stage Manager Suzanne Cross round out the company.

The run begins February 8 through February 25, and performances will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Teatro Paraguas, 3205 Calle Marie, Santa Fe, NM. Ticket price is $25 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors. For more information or to make reservations, please call 917-439-7708 or visit our website at www.theoasistheatre.com.
