The Stephen Sondheim Society, which counts Mr Sondheim himself amongst its patrons, has announced the launch of its new website, to coincide with the new Charitable Trust status for the Society.

Society Co-Chairman and joint Webmaster Peter Auker said: "The Society website has been an important part of our operation for many years, but the old one had come to the end of its life. It had a tired look, and was not reliable enough for our needs."

The new site, developed by Nick Pugh of Silver IT Solutions, features lively news pages, information about Stephen Sondheim and the Society, a calendar of show performances, videos, a twitter feed and much more, including a discussion board. "We'd really love to see more activity on the discussion board now we've re-launched it," said Peter's colleague, joint webmaster Matti Aijala. "It's not just for Society members, but for anyone interested in Sondheim or indeed musical theatre in general." The registration process for the board is very easy, and, of course, free. And there is a separate password-protected section for paid-up members of the Sondheim Society.

The website can be accessed by going to www.sondheim.org. Also, don't forget that another great way to keep in touch with what is happening in the world of Sondheim and the Society is to follow on Twitter - go to www.twitter.com/StephenSSociety.
