What is your greatest fear?
Losing someone I love. And zombies.

What is your earliest memory?
Feeding tinsel to an inflatable Father Christmas in my playpen.

Which living person do you most admire, and why?
My grandmother, for getting through the war and many hardships with such style and a fantastic sense of humour.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Cowardice.

Where would you like to live?
By the sea with my husband.

What makes you unhappy?
Ignorance, and meanness.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
"I'll just sleep for 10 more minutes..."

What is the best job you've done?
This one is pretty fantastic.

Cat or dog?
DOG! Sorry, cats.

To whom would you most like to say sorry?
To myself for not eating more.

Who is your best friend in theatre?
My sister Lucy, also an actor.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?

Tell us a secret.
I don't have any.
