Producing Artistic Director Evan Hoffmann announces NextStop Theatre Company's fourth professional season of theatre in the Dulles Corridor.

Kicking off the season in September will be the hit movie-turned-musical, Catch Me If You Can, directed by NextStop Theatre's Producing Artistic Director, Evan Hoffmann. Seeking fame and fortune, precocious teenager Frank Abignale, Jr. successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer - living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank's lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, Carl pursues Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes. See the story through Frank's eyes- as a spectacular 1960s variety special.

Just in time for Halloween, Eurydice reveals the untold side of the story of the classic Greek myth of Orpheus. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. Director Jay Brock of the Catholic University of America is at the helm for the return of Sarah Ruhl to our stage, following our 2012 production of The Clean House.

Ringing in the New Year is the return of Shakespeare to NextStop's stage. Much Ado About Nothing, the beloved Shakespearean tale of Beatrice and Benedick is the original romantic comedy! The pair are locked in a constant battle of wits and share a mutual disdain for love. Their friends undertake a scheme to trick them into falling for one another during the preparations for Claudio and Hero's wedding. But as that plan starts working, so does another scheme. Abigail Isaac Fine, director of NextStop Theatre's 2013 production of The 12 Dates of Christmas, brings Shakespeare back to Herndon.

Producing Artistic Director Evan Hoffmann is bringing a giant mountain into NextStop Theatre's 114-seat black box in April 2017 for K2. Two climbers are stranded at 27,000 feet on an icy ledge of K2, the second highest mountain in the world, and one has suffered a broken leg in their precipitous descent. They have also lost one of their ropes, and the remaining one is neither long or strong enough to serve as a sling to lower him to the next ledge. As one climbs back up the mountain in an attempt to recover the other rope, the two men keep up a running conversation which begins in a lighthearted vein but gradually shades into an absorbing discussion of the meaning and value of life.

Signature Theatre's Walter Ware will direct the finale of the season: Urinetown, the Musical. Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, this musical send up is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

"I could not be more excited about our fourth season," said Producing Artistic Director Evan Hoffmann. "We are going to take our audiences on one hell of a ride. From the top of a mountain to deep in the Underworld; the coast of Italy and far into the future. This is as vibrant and eclectic of a group of plays as we have ever had in a single season."
