U.K.'s Theatre503 Presents THIS MUCH IS TRUE, 10/27-11/21

This Much is True is a shocking, electrifying, insight into what really happened before and during the years following Jean Charles de Menezes's death. Weaving together new and personal testimonies from senior police officers including Andy Hayman (Metropolitan Police former head of counter terrorism), Brian Paddick, Jean's family, friends, and legal team (including Michael Mansfield QC), IPCC whistleblower Lana Vandenberghe, the Justice for Jean campaign and eye-witnesses, it brings the tragedy to the stage and reveals much that has never been said publicly before.

This Much is True is co-written by Paul Unwin and Sarah Beck. Paul was artistic director of the Bristol Old Vic and has worked at the Royal Court, Royal National Theatre, Manchester Royal Exchange, and Gate Theatre, Dublin. For Television, he co-created the BBC series Casualty and Holby City. His short film Syrup was nominated for an Oscar and won the Prix de Jury at Cannes. His recent film Elijah won five Leos. Sarah is a new American playwright. Her radio play Sudbury Town has recently been broadcast as part of Theatre503's Urban Scrawl series.

The cast includes Justine Waddell who appeared as Tess in the TV adaptation of Tess of the d'Urbervilles and Gerald Kyd, best known as Dr Sean Maddox in Casualty.

It is directed by Tim Roseman (The Arab-Israeli Cookbook), designed by Paul Wills (Donmar Theatre's The Man Who Had All The Luck and Pornography for Traverse/Tricycle), with music by the BAFTA-nominated Daniel Pemberton Peep Show), sound design by Olivier Award-winning Mike Walker (Jerry Springer - The Opera, Caroline or Change, Oliver, The Graduate, The Full Monty and Jus' Like That) and projection design by Tim Bird and Knifedge The Creative Network whose design for Sunday in The Park with George earned them numerous awards in the West End and on Broadway including an Olivier, Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award.
