Stage Acts Productions, the team behind You'll Never Walk Alone, the recent West End gala concert in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Appeal, launch Onstage Acts, a summer course exploring new and contemporary musical theatre.

Taking place in London between 4th-8th August, the course will be curated by contemporary musical theatre favourites Julie Atherton & Paul Spicer, and will feature masterclasses from theatre professionals working across the length and breadth of the industry.

Developed as an opportunity to re-focus, and to absorb ideas from those at the top of their game, Onstage Acts is open to musical theatre performers both professional and in education and allows students to work closely with performers, composers, directors, casting directors, agents and producers, inspiring each individual to become the best that they can be at this very specific style of performance, whilst also providing incomparable opportunities to make contacts and expand professional networks.

Onstage Acts will feature material from celebrated contemporary musical theatre composers such as Broadway's Pasek and Paul, Emmy Award-winning Lance Horne, and Gianni Onori, composer of the only British musical to be accepted at this year's New York International Fringe Festival, and will culminate in a semi-staged showcase for industry professionals.

!Participants will also get the chance to work closely with creative teams from other companies, providing an unparalleled showcase opportunity with practitioners at the forefront of the theatre industry. Confirmed workshops include sessions with Interval Productions' founder and producer Tori Allen-Martin and director Adam 'Bo' Boland, and a masterclass with the award-winning Donmar Warehouse composer in residence Michael Bruce, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Since co-founding Notes from New York in 2003, multi-award nominated producer and actor Paul Spicer and Julie Atherton (London's "Reigning Queen of new musical writing") have worked extensively both performing in the West End and on Broadway as well as tutoring contemporary musical theatre and collaborating with a network of world class industry professionals. They were also the creative team behind a previous musical theatre summer course, which produced success stories such as guest tutor Tori Allen-Martin (multi-award nominated writer, performer and producer), Jennifer Potts (Narrator in the UK Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Amelia Adams-Pearce (UK Tours of Spamalot and Hairspray) and Phoebe Fildes (original West End cast of Once).

Paul Spicer said: "I'm extremely proud of our previous work in promoting new and contemporary musical theatre over the last decade. Co-founding the Notes from New York concert series in 2003 was a pivotal moment in my life as a creative, not just as an actor. We went from playing an 150-seater to selling out the Theatre Royal Haymarket three-times over for our 5th Anniversary production of The Last 5 Years. I've always felt passionate about giving people a voice, their first break, an opportunity, and I can't wait to work with the next generation of performers during Onstage Acts, whilst simultaneously introducing them to brand new material."

Onstage Acts is about rediscovering a love for performing, and unearthing new, relatable material in a creative environment. Course fees are just £200 for the week's tuition, making the course economical as well as immensely rewarding. Only 30 places are available.
