The complete cast of the Almeida Theatre's acclaimed production of King Charles III began rehearsals today for the play's West End transfer. Directed by Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold, the world premiere of Mike Bartlett's hit new play enjoyed a sell-out run at the Almeida earlier this year and received outstanding critical acclaim. King Charles III will transfer to the Wyndham's Theatre for a limited season previewing from Tuesday 2 September with a press performance on Thursday 11 September.

Tim Pigott-Smith will once again play Charles and Oliver Chris will reprise his role as William. They will be joined by Katie Brayben, Richard Goulding, Nyasha Hatendi, Adam James, Margot Leicester, Miles Richardson, Tom Robertson, Nicholas Rowe, Tafline Steen and Lydia Wilson.

King Charles III is designed by Tom Scutt, music is composed by Jocelyn Pook, lighting by Jon Clark and sound by Paul Arditti.

The Queen is dead: after a lifetime of waiting, the Prince ascends the throne. A future of power. But how to rule?

Mike Bartlett's play explores the people underneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain's most famous family.
